Forty years on the same ground
Nazih Dergham opened the practice in 1985 and it has stayed in the family since. Architecture and construction were never separated here: the office drew the building and then went out and built it.
That counts for more in Lebanon than it would elsewhere. Currency moves, power cuts out, a supplier goes quiet for a month. A practice that has worked through all of it prices a job honestly and finishes it anyway.
Today the second generation runs the work, across design, development and execution, with the same people on a project from the first sketch to the last inspection.

We are in Galerie Semaan, Beirut. Most first meetings happen here around a table with plans on it, and most of the ones after that happen on site.
